Collection of Student Belongings

Hello CJP families,
Please see in the schedule below the pick-up times for you to pick-up your child’s personal belongings and return library and home reading materials.
We have divided the pick-up times into several sessions to assist with social distancing. We respectfully request that only ONE parent enter the school to reduce the number of people visiting the building. We recommend that children stay home as this will likely be a difficult time for them to remain a safe distance away from peers and friends, however, this remains a parent decision as we are not allowed to restrict student access to the building for belonging pick-up.
Please bring a backpack or shopping bag as most children have many items that will need to be taken home. Please do NOT take the bin holding your child’s items.  All lost and found items will also be in the gym.
If your child has medication stored at school, please check in with the teacher who will be at a table in the hall. They will be able to provide you with your child’s medications.
If you are unable to pick-up at your scheduled time, please plan to pick-up in the additional times scheduled.
If you are only dropping off library books and home reading materials, a bin will be located at the front entrance for these items. Personal items (Inside Shoes) not picked up will remain at the school for pick-up when school resumes. School work remaining will be recycled.
Please plan to enter through the unlocked front doors and proceed directly to the gym where all belongings are located. We ask that you exit through the gym doors (south or east).
Thank you

Washing our Hands

Today we discussed the importance of washing our hands and sanitizing.

Students asked about the Coronavirus.  We watched a Brainpop video about this to alleviate any worries.

Please discuss any worries your child might have at home.

Goalball

Today we learned about the sport called Goalball.  It is an Paralympic sport played by blind and visually impaired people.

Each student got more a turn to try on the blind-fold and block and throw the ball.  We had a lot of fun.

Please check out the links below if you want to learn more about goalball.

Walking to the Mailbox

Today we went to the mailbox to mail home our post cards.  Every student put their own card in the mailbox and everyone is excited to receive it at home.

Parents, please review ROAD SAFETY with your child tonight.  After mailing our cards students seemed to forget about car/road safety.  We discussed it in class and we all agreed that it is great that we are excited but we must always be safe around cars and in a parking lot.

When you receive your post card at home please let us know.  We will be graphing to see when we each receive it.

The objective of this assignment was for students to demonstrate a good understanding of a landmark in Calgary.  Their art should have a lot of detail, with minimal white space, and clear outlining.  Their writing should match the picture and give the reader a clear understanding of where they were writing from and what they did there.  Lastly, please look for capitals and periods within the writing.  This assignment covered Art, Writing and Social Studies outcomes.

Have fun checking your mailbox!
